US trade partners reject forced-labour justification for Trump's new global tariffs
US trading partners have pushed back against the Trump administration's justification that new global tariffs are warranted by forced-labour concerns, calling the rationale unconvincing. Most, however, signalled they would continue trade negotiations with Washington rather than immediately retaliating. The tariffs affect 60 countries and blocs, including the European Union.
