Trump Hits Australian Exports with 12.5% Tariff over Forced Labour Claims

The US announced a new 12.5% tariff on many Australian exports as part of a broader regime affecting dozens of countries, citing insufficient action against forced labour. Australia's Albanese government rejected the claims as unjustified and demanded the tariffs be removed immediately. Trade Minister Don Farrell said the measures are inconsistent with the existing free trade agreement between the two countries.
