Blade Runner 2099 heads to Prime Video as Ridley Scott returns to sci-fi

After almost 10 years away from the genre, Ridley Scott is officially returning to sci-fi later this year with his new release, The Dog Stars . Scott is best known for directing some of the most legendary sci-fi projects of all time, like Alien , Blade Runner , and The Martian . The Alien franchise is still going strong to this day, and while Scott hasn’t directed anything Alien -adjacent since Covenant in 2018, he’s involved as a producer on the franchise’s first TV show, Alien: Earth . Scott has also been tapped to produce another TV spin-off of one of his popular sci-fi franchises, Blade Runner 2099 , which is coming to Prime Video later this year. The series will be a direct continuation of both Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049 .
