Patreon Lays Off 20% of Staff in 'Painful' Restructuring

Creator monetization platform Patreon announced Thursday it is laying off 20% of its workforce — 93 employees — as part of a restructuring of its internal operations. Those affected will receive at least 16 weeks of severance pay. CEO Jack Conte called the move "painful" in a letter to staff posted online.
