Johnson-Thompson withdraws from Commonwealth Games on opening day

Katarina Johnson-Thompson has withdrawn from the heptathlon at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on the very day the event began. The British athlete cited health problems as the reason for her withdrawal. She will not defend her title at these Games.
