Kremlin pumps Siberian fuel to Moscow to conceal impact of Ukrainian refinery strikes
Russia is urgently redirecting fuel from Siberia to Moscow and St. Petersburg to conceal the impact of Ukrainian strikes on its refineries. While the capitals appear stable, outlying regions are beginning to experience shortages. Energy security analyst Wojciech Jakóbik warns that "saving the centre at the expense of remote regions is a recipe for centrifugal forces" — potentially threatening the cohesion of the Russian federation.
