Cisco: multi-turn attacks broke AI models 88% of the time in security tests

Cisco's security research team ran 6,986 multi-turn attacks against 15 flagship AI models, finding that attackers who adapted their approach across a conversation broke through 88.3% of the time. Amy Chang, Cisco's head of AI threat intelligence, presented the findings at VB Transform 2026, warning that single-turn red-teaming misses this attack vector entirely. A June 2026 VentureBeat survey of 107 enterprises found 54% had already experienced a confirmed AI agent security incident or near-miss.
