Coinbase enables businesses to accept AI agent payments via x402 standard

Coinbase has announced that businesses will be able to accept payments from AI bots, powered by Coinbase Payments and the x402 protocol. The company described AI payments as its "most high-conviction bet" strategically. The system is designed to enable automated settlements between artificial intelligence agents and merchants.
