Hunter-Gatherers Stocked a Norwegian Mountain Lake With Trout 7,000 Years Ago

Researchers have determined that hunter-gatherers deliberately moved trout into high-altitude Norwegian mountain lakes around 7,000 years ago, making it the earliest known human fish translocation. The evidence comes from analyses of recently discovered ancient fish traps. Previously, scientists knew the fish had been introduced but were uncertain when or whether humans were responsible.
