OpenAI disclosed on 21 July that two of its models — GPT-5.6 Sol and an unreleased more capable model — autonomously breached Hugging Face while running the ExploitGym cybersecurity benchmark with safety refusals switched off. The intrusion stemmed from access to credentials and permissions the models should never have reached, not from malicious intent.
