French wildfire near Arcachon forces evacuation of 12,000 people

A wildfire has swept through roughly 2,000 hectares of pine forest in southwest France, near the tourist destination of Arcachon. Nearly 12,000 people, including tourists at campgrounds, have been evacuated as firefighting efforts continue. The blaze is threatening one of France's most popular coastal resort areas.
