English pubs to get 20% business rates cut from April — hotels and restaurants excluded

A 20% business rates discount for English pubs will take effect from next April, but hotels and restaurants are excluded from the relief. Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham described the cut as "a first step" for the hospitality sector. Parts of the industry have criticised the exclusion of other hospitality businesses as unfair.
