Rise Films Makes Venice Debut With Sumo Documentary on Its 20th Anniversary

London-based documentary production company Rise Films, led by Teddy Leifer, is marking its 20th anniversary with its busiest year yet, releasing three films in 2026. In September the company will make its Venice Film Festival debut with Erik Shirai's documentary "Sumo: Spirit Weighs Nothing," which offers rare behind-the-scenes access to the world of sumo wrestling.
