Poland's NFZ to Delay Payments for Over-Limit Specialist Visits — Clinics Face Cash Crisis
Poland's National Health Fund (NFZ) is changing how it pays for specialist consultations beyond contracted limits — instead of quarterly reimbursements, clinics will now wait a full year to be paid for over-limit patients. Directors of medical facilities warn that most cannot afford to pay doctors upfront and wait twelve months for reimbursement. In effect, they say, this reinstates hard patient limits and will restrict access to specialist care.
