Kazakhstan plans national crypto reserve funded by bitcoin miners

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree on 7 July establishing a national strategic crypto reserve to be funded by the country's bitcoin miners. On 18 July, the government approved Resolution No. 638, setting out the mechanism for "strategic digital mining" under which miners must route a share of mined coins to the sovereign reserve. The two-step plan aims to bring Kazakhstan's large mining industry into a regulated, state-supervised framework.
