A Working Payphone in Altadena Became an Art Portal for Final Goodbyes

On the edge of the Angeles National Forest in Altadena, California, a still-working payphone has become part of a guerrilla art project called "The Goodbye Line". Created by Adam Trunell and Alexis Wood, the project invites strangers to call in and leave the goodbyes they never got to say — to loved ones or anyone else. The payphone has earned its own Google reviews and become a cherished local landmark.
