Ghana Calls AU Debate on South Africa's Xenophobia — 160,000 Foreigners Have Fled
Ghanaian President John Mahama called on Thursday for an African Union debate to formally address escalating xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals in South Africa. Over the past two months, more than 160,000 foreign nationals have left South Africa and several people have been killed amid rising hostility towards undocumented migrants. Mahama urged the AU to take collective action to address the crisis.
