5,000-tonne viaduct moved 50 metres in Ruda Śląska to save key rail line

Engineers in Ruda Śląska, southern Poland, successfully relocated a viaduct weighing over 5,000 tonnes by 50 metres. The operation took two days, with the structure moving at a maximum speed of 2 metres per hour. The complex manoeuvre was carried out to avoid shutting down one of the region's most important railway lines for a full year.
