Webb telescope finds giant hidden planet in Beta Pictoris system
NASA's James Webb Space Telescope has revealed a giant planet, Beta Pictoris d, hidden within one of astronomy's most closely studied planetary systems. The planet had been concealed behind a bright disk of cosmic dust and was detected through atmospheric signatures of carbon monoxide, water vapour, and methane. Researchers say the discovery demonstrates a promising new technique for finding elusive exoplanets.
