Orcas filmed smashing giant sunfish into thousands of pieces in Gulf of California

Researchers in the Gulf of California have captured footage of a previously undocumented orca behaviour. In two separate encounters, one orca held a dead ocean sunfish by the fin while a second charged into the carcass at high speed, blasting it apart into thousands of pieces. The discovery adds to the growing body of knowledge about the complex behaviours of killer whales.
