BlackRock, Coinbase and Strategy pledge $15M to protect Bitcoin from quantum threats

BlackRock, Coinbase and Strategy have joined a consortium pledging $15 million to prepare the Bitcoin network against quantum computing threats. Members will direct their funding independently, with the consortium taking no role in Bitcoin's governance or protocol decisions. The initiative aims to bolster the network's long-term cryptographic resilience.
