EU fines Google €890 million for breaching Digital Markets Act

The European Commission on Thursday fined Google €890 million for breaching the EU's Digital Markets Act (DMA), accusing the company of using its search engine to favour its own services and limit competitors' reach. The penalty comes as parent company Alphabet also published quarterly results showing revenues growing at a double-digit pace for another consecutive quarter.
