Kremlin to take full control over retail prices from 2027
From 1 January 2027, Russian authorities will have the power to control price changes for goods and services at every stage of the supply chain, from manufacturers and importers to retail shelves. The new regulations give the Kremlin unprecedented powers to intervene in the market economy. The move is seen as a response to rising inflation in Russia fuelled in part by the cost of the war in Ukraine.
