BitMEX exchange shuts down on 23 September — clients have two months to withdraw funds

Cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX will cease operations on 23 September 2025 at 5 a.m. Polish time. The decision was made by the board of HDR Global Trading Limited, the Seychelles-registered company that owns the platform. New account registrations have been halted immediately, and clients are advised to close positions and withdraw funds without delay. The exchange operated for 11 years but did not obtain a licence required under the EU's MiCA regulation.
