DZ Mafia: French drug network seen as failure of prohibition, not a policing problem

Threats against the mayor of Arles have put the spotlight on the increasingly brazen behaviour of criminal networks in France, particularly the DZ Mafia. Drug policy expert Yann Bisiou of Paul-Valéry University argues that DZ Mafia is not a policing problem but the predictable result of a prohibition model that fails to curb a lucrative illicit drug trade.
