Venice Biennale chief slams EU for pulling funds over Russia's participation

Pietrangelo Buttafuoco, president of the Venice Biennale Foundation, publicly criticised the European Commission for withdrawing funding over Russia's participation in this year's Art Biennale. He made the remarks at the press conference unveiling the lineup for the 83rd Venice Film Festival. Buttafuoco accused the EC of applying political pressure on an independent cultural institution.
