Thailand: 5 soldiers killed in attack on security checkpoint

Attackers killed five soldiers in an assault on a security checkpoint in southern Thailand. The assailants stole three AK-47 rifles, three bulletproof vests and three mobile phones. The region has been affected by a low-level insurgency for two decades.
