Senator Warren demands Barclays explain why it missed Staley–Epstein ties
Senator Elizabeth Warren, the top Democrat on the Senate Banking Committee, sent a private letter to Barclays chair Nigel Higgins demanding urgent answers about the bank's investigation into former CEO Jes Staley's links to Jeffrey Epstein. Warren said it was "deeply unclear" how the bank failed to uncover the decades-long relationship between Staley and the convicted sex offender. The letter was obtained exclusively by the Guardian.
