Russell Crowe's Marvel misfire finds new audience on Prime Video

2026 has been a relatively quiet year for Russell Crowe , who has starred in a pair of movies, though neither has entered the conversation with the same force as some of his past films. Crowe’s first project of the year came from starring as the mentor in the MMA thriller, Beast , which is now available to rent or purchase on Prime Video after scraping together less than $2 million at the box office. He then starred in the action thriller The Get Out , which grossed less than $1 million before also finding modest success on VOD platforms. Crowe has been hard at work this year filming what may yet be one of the biggest movies of his career, the Highlander reboot co-starring Henry Cavill and directed by Chad Stahelski . The film is expected in theaters sometime before the end of 2027.
