European heatwave: wildfires and 44°C warnings hit tourist hotspots

Much of southern Europe has been gripped by an intense heatwave, with wildfires breaking out in France and Italy. Extreme weather warnings were issued for popular tourist destinations, with temperatures potentially reaching 44°C. Spain, France and Italy were among the worst-affected countries.
