EU approves $111bn Paramount-Warner merger with conditions on cinema distribution
The European Commission has officially approved Paramount-Skydance's $111 billion takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery. The EU had no concerns over film production, TV or streaming, but found the merged company's share of European cinema distribution too large. As a condition, Paramount must withdraw its stake in the UIP distribution network across the European Economic Area within 13 months of the deal closing.
