Tripe, czernina and pork jelly — Polish dishes that horrify foreign tourists
Traditional Polish cuisine delights locals but can shock foreign tourists. Dishes such as flaki (tripe soup), czernina (duck blood soup), kaszanka (blood sausage) and pork jelly are steeped in Polish culinary tradition, yet they frequently horrify first-time visitors. Paradoxically, many Poles find French staples such as snails and frogs' legs far more off-putting.
