Oxygen "bullets" from nova V445 Puppis travel at 30 million km/h

Astronomers studying the unusual nova V445 Puppis have detected ejected clumps of oxygen-rich gas travelling at speeds exceeding 30 million km/h. Researchers are linking these "bullets" to other unexplained phenomena in the system. V445 Puppis is notable as the only known nova to show no hydrogen signature.
