Hackers steal $35 million from Bitcoin- and Ethereum-linked protocols

Multiple cross-chain protocols, including Verus and B² Network, were drained of $35 million in a series of attacks hours apart. Hackers exploited compromised private keys, upgrade permissions and validation weaknesses rather than breaking the underlying Bitcoin or Ethereum cryptography. The incident highlights the vulnerability of bridging and layer-2 infrastructure.
