Apple to remotely lock iPhones of customers who miss loan payments

Apple plans to implement a remote locking system that will restrict the use of iPhones belonging to customers who fall behind on instalment payments. The feature is designed to prevent debtors from continuing to use devices they haven't paid for. Locked phones would remain restricted until outstanding payments are settled.
