Faces of 16 Roman-Era Residents of Budapest Reconstructed After 1,700 Years

Budapest's Aquincum Museum has opened "Once We Were Like You," an exhibition featuring scientifically informed facial reconstructions of 16 people who lived in Roman-era Aquincum, in present-day Hungary. Six of the models are hyperrealistic silicone figures with human hair, artificial eyes and eyelashes. Among those reconstructed is a young woman buried with a laurel wreath and unusual cork sandals. The exhibition runs until October 31.
