Price and Van Veen reach Matchplay quarters as Menzies withdraws ill

Gerwyn Price secured his place in the World Matchplay quarter-finals with a commanding 11-5 victory over Rob Cross at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. Cameron Menzies was forced to withdraw from the tournament through illness, handing a walkover to his opponent Danny Van Veen, who also advances to the last eight. Both quarter-final spots were confirmed on the same day.
