Meta escapes second social media addiction trial after plaintiff drops case

A 15-year-old Florida plaintiff known by initials R.K.C. dropped her lawsuit against Meta less than a week before the case was due to go to trial in Los Angeles. The case was set to be the second in a series of bellwether trials testing legal arguments around social media addiction. Meta will not now have to face this particular lawsuit in court.
