US and Saudi Arabia Sign Civilian Nuclear Cooperation Pact
The United States and Saudi Arabia signed a civilian nuclear cooperation agreement on Wednesday, with Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman both putting pen to paper. A separate bilateral safeguards deal was signed alongside the main pact. The agreement paves the way for Saudi Arabia to develop a civilian nuclear energy programme with American assistance.
