YouTube ad revenue hits $11bn in Q2, helping Alphabet smash Wall Street forecasts

YouTube's advertising revenue grew 13% year-on-year in Q2 to reach $11.055 billion, boosting parent company Alphabet's overall performance. Alphabet's total revenue rose 24% to $119.8 billion for the quarter, while earnings per share nearly quadrupled to $9.11. Both figures came in ahead of Wall Street forecasts.
