US Navy plans $30 billion dry dock at Puget Sound for aircraft carriers

The US Navy has published a Sources Sought notice for a multi-mission dry dock at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard worth up to $30 billion, designed to service Ford-class and Nimitz-class aircraft carriers. The contract spans five years with three one-year options. The project is part of the Navy's Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program, which also covers shipyards at Norfolk, Pearl Harbor and Portsmouth.
