Trump administration nears civilian nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia
The Trump administration is expected to announce an agreement with Saudi Arabia on a civilian nuclear programme, structured as a so-called 123 Agreement designed to prevent the development of nuclear weapons. Such deals prohibit uranium enrichment and plutonium reprocessing. It remains unclear whether Saudi Arabia will accept those restrictions.
