Bethesda told laid-off Montreal devs they'd get minimum severance on Fallout announcement day

On July 17 — the same day Bethesda announced major Fallout, Elder Scrolls and Starfield news — laid-off workers at the Montreal studio were told they would receive the minimum severance legally required and lose health insurance immediately, according to union OneBGS. Employees had been told on July 6 they would remain employed until September while severance was negotiated, but those terms were revoked eleven days later. The union condemned the treatment as "unconscionable" given Microsoft's billions in recorded profit.
