French mayor of Alès evacuated at night after DZ Mafia drug gang death threats

Christophe Rivenq, the mayor of Alès in southern France, was removed from his home in the middle of the night by an elite police unit amid fears of an imminent attack by the DZ Mafia drug gang. The gang, which originated in Marseille, has grown into one of France's most serious security threats. Rivenq had previously received death threats linked to the organisation.
