Scientists map the microbial genome of the Great Barrier Reef

A new Great Barrier Reef Microbial Genomes Database has been published in Nature, compiling prokaryotic, viral and eukaryotic genomes from seawater samples collected across the reef. The database is intended as a resource for studying marine microbial communities and supporting ecosystem research and management of one of the world's most important coral systems.
