Iconic Cinerama Dome to reopen in 2028 alongside new 14-screen Alamo Drafthouse

Sony Pictures Entertainment has announced plans to reopen and restore the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood in 2028, after the iconic theater has been closed since 2020. The reopening will be accompanied by a new 14-screen Alamo Drafthouse Cinema next to the historic venue. Sony entered the exhibition business with its purchase of Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas in 2024.
