First DC-Driven Polariton Laser Diode Without Epitaxial Substrate Built

Scientists have fabricated a polariton laser diode by integrating a solution-grown perovskite microplate with chemically inert single-walled carbon nanotube electrodes inside an optical microcavity. The device achieves polariton lasing under a constant direct current at 8 K without any epitaxial substrate. The result marks a significant step toward practical, low-threshold optoelectronic light sources.
