Kawa Beaten by Badosa in Hamburg First Round; Spaniard Surprised by Her Own Level

Katarzyna Kawa (WTA 131) lost to Paula Badosa (WTA 93) 5-7, 4-6 in the first round of the Hamburg clay-court tournament. It was Badosa's second career win over the Polish player. In her post-match interview, the Spaniard admitted she was genuinely surprised by her own performance, saying: "I didn't think I was playing that well."
