Etiquette Expert: Taking Off Shoes on a Plane Creates a Smell Problem for Everyone

An etiquette expert is warning travellers that removing shoes on a plane is far more disruptive than it may seem: while one person doing it is a minor issue, when a hundred passengers follow suit the cabin smell becomes genuinely unpleasant. She highlights it as one of the most commonly broken rules of in-flight etiquette. The advice applies to all cabin classes.
