IPN warns: Volhynia exhumations could take hundreds of years at current pace

Dr Leon Popek of Poland's Institute of National Remembrance warns that at the current pace and with existing procedures, the exhumation of Polish victims of the Volhynia massacre will take several hundred years. He is calling for an urgent database of mass grave sites to be created before the last surviving witnesses die. The matter is made more pressing by the dwindling number of people who still remember where victims were buried.
